the battery shouldn't have gone dead in that amount of time. Here are some factors: 1. the age of the battery. 2. was something left on? e.g. small light, radios sometimes drawl energy, etc. 3. You might need a new alternator. That's what charges the battery. You can take the car to Napa or some other parts stores and they have a little machine that they put on the battery while it's running and it tests the whole system. They will tell you if it's the battery or the alternator or neither. Good luck.

Most modern cars have a small parasitic load on the battery when car is off from the radio, computer or alarm systems to hold their memory. Although these are usually small loads, if the car is not driven for several weeks, these loads will drain the battery. Best thing to do for this is to hook up a trickle charger or battery maintainer that will charge the battery at about 2 amps and automatically shut off to keep it from going dead....you can buy these at most parts stores or home centers. If you disconnect the battery, the computer and radio memories will be lost and sometimes it is very hard to reset the computer or unlock an anti-theft type radio. Or make sure you start the car every few days--- let it run for 15-20 minutes and move it a short distance several times to keep the brake rotors from rusting up too badly.

well first of all any connections in the car still use power even though it is off. you might want to turn the car on for at least 15 to 30 mins every 5 to 7 days so the alternator can recharge the battery that will help you out the most. or u can go get the battery checked at auto zone or any auto parts and they should tell you if the battery is good or bad :)

Something is definately drawing the power off your battery. To ensure that the battery does not go dead when you really need it you can remove the negative lead from the negative post when you are done driving the car for the day. Then it will not go dead. It may be very very difficult to trace down what is robbing your battery. Also they sell switches that you can put on inline on your negative cable to make it easier to connect and disconnect. I would do this. It's the easiest and cheapest route to take.

yeah the battery charges when the engine is running so if u dont run the engine for a week or so the battery could well go flat, saying that i had a car that woud start after not being run for just over a week and the the battery wasnt flat so the age of the battery may have something to do with it. just remember when u have jump started it to get the battery going, u need to drive or run the engine for about 15-20 mins so that it can properly charge again! :)

The alternator itself can drain the battery if it is bad. A fully charged battery with good cable connections and no malfunctioning electrical parts wont go dead in 30 days of no use. You have some kind of problem that is draining the battery or the alternator isn't keeping it fully charged.

You may have some corrosion around your battery terminals and also it does get inside the wires - this will stop the battery from charging as it should. the battery can be load tested to see if it is good once it has charged back up. Also you could have alternator problems. Places like advance auto will check all this for free unless you have a helpful boyfriend around.

Check all your lights, such as over the engine, in the trunk, dome light, head lights and tail lights.
Had one car that the if parked on a hill the hood light would go on.
Another, the "sound dampening insulation" over the engine would short the battery, and several with water in the tail lights.
Or it could be some inane thing wrong with the car that will never be fixed because the engine sucks and the dealer sucks more

The Car company told me to be sure and click the lock mode when leaving the car at home so it will go in sleep mode.
Otherwise it will continuously level itself etc and may run battery down. After 4 days my car did that and would not start at first.

there are several small drains on the battery when car is shut off. there is a clock, alternator voltage regulator, memory for radio channels,I have found brake light switches at fault also.bring it to a competent electrical automotive shop and test battery for load rating and for drain(electrical draw).
you said after 7-10 days ,what about 2-3 days?
