Gratitude for what I have. Corny though it may sound, the following list is what I feel grateful for every night, regardless of what crap life has thrown at me today(and believe me I have NOT had an easy life!!) Here goes:
The ability to have been able to conceive and give birth to five children;
The knowledge that they are all decent people;
Reasonable health-mine and theirs;
A job I love (I'm a teacher)
A permanent place to live (I was virtually homeless at one point)
A warm bed (I hate being cold)
The ability to fall asleep when my head hits the pillow despite worries. (My Dad used to say this was a gift and I never understood it as a teenager but BOY do I often repeat his words these days!!)
Finally, having experienced and overcome horrible personal trauma a while back, the certainty that if I can beat that, I can beat anything.
I AM LUCKY!!!!
