Okay...I'm really worried. I'm 11 weeks pregnant with my first baby. Well first let me start off by saying that I have a doctors appt today at 4pm. Yesterday I had sex....then that same night i woke up to use the bathroom and there was bright red blood. I had no pain whatsoever. Right now I'm still bleeding but i only see it when i wipe. I have put a pantyliner on but the blood is not getting on it. Ladies please tell me if you have experienced anything like this. Should I just stay away from sex. Also, my doc does not really just give advice away...what things should I be asking her?

Thanks Ladies!

Don't worry I had the same problem during the first trimester and a half. My OBGYN told me it was because the the extra blood flow to my cervix. he told me as long that is slowed it would be ok. If you start soaking a pad in an hour you need to call your doctor asap. Your doctor will tell you to not have sex until you have not bleed for two weeks.

This happened to me, and my doctor had me abstain from sex. It ended up that I had a placenta previa, where the placenta implnats too low, covering part or all of the cervix. This can be very dangerous, but luckily everything tuned out for me. Any red bleeding when you are pregnant shuld be reported to your OB right away! Make sure to discuss this at your appointment today.

some bleeding is common after having sex. and no pain is good, you don't have to stop having sex. in fact allot of women have heightened sex drive during pregnancy. in your question you said that you doctor does not give away advice. does that mean that you don't feel comfortable with talking to him/her or they don't take the time to answer your questions. you have to feel at ease with your ob you will have many questions and you will need them answered, so think about making a list and ask, if your not comfortable maybe you should consider changing Ob's. back to the bleeding this is something you really need your ob to check, you are in a very sensitive part of your pregnancy.

I will soon be the mother of eight. Sex is fine when you are pregnant. As a matter of fact it can be good exercise. If you bleeding can be considered anything other than spotting, you need t9o inform your doctor immediately. You may need to change to a doctor that you can speak openly with and who will give you advice, that is after all what they are for.

I would suggest just waiting it out until your doctor's appt later today, but since you said your doctor doesn't "really just give advice away," you need to find a NEW doctor. A doctor works FOR YOU, not the other way around, and you should get the best quality care you can get!

But no, I never did experience this.

Try not to worry just yet. It could be just blood from your cervix because of the sex. If it was deep penetration then that would answer your question. However, don't go off of just that. To make sure everything is ok you should call your doctor first and just ask if that's normal...normally when your miscarriing you have more than a dot of blood... Call... you should be fine :)

I bled nearly every time I had sex during my 3rd pregnancy - and then not with my 4th. So - yes - it is normal. As long as you're not cramping, I'd say you have nothing to worry about. I would not avoid sex just b/c of the bleeding. It's just due to a sensitive cervix and increased blood flow.

this is something that has happened to me and my doc said it was normal. this is not to say if the bleeding gets worse or you feel cramping get to the doc right away!! but if you just feel like it is not right see your doctor and tell him this is your first and you need more info about whats going on maybe he thinks you are not this concerned

tell your doctor exactly what you just typed. I was told that spotting is normal after sex, or internal exams.... i never had it happen to me so i do not know if it would be bright red or not... I wouldn't have sex again without asking the doctor... good luck
