I just went in for my first examine and got the Depo Birth-Control Shot. My doctor said after the 7 day mark I would be risk free from getting pregnant. On the 10th day my boyfriend and I got intimate but I was on my period. My period wasn't heavy it was very light but he cummed in me and now im worried. I haven't had any signs of being pregnant and my period became heavier the day after we had sex. How long does it take for Depo to be fully protective of your body so you are risk free just for a second oppion? Should I be worried that im pregnant?

NOTHING is 100% effective except for abstinence.

I was on it for four years and had horrible side affects.

You could always get a pregnancy test just in case.

The doctor told me it would take two weeks to take effect for sure.

honestly, i don't think that you're pregnant.
there still is that maybe tough. if you haven't gotten any symptoms of being pregnant then you should be okay. my friend is on the shot too and she said that her period was really light.
you probably should still take a pregnancy test if your that worried about it.. but theres a really good chance your not.
oh and another thing.. you can't get pregnant during yourperiodand you can only get pregnant during the 13 through 15th day of ur cycle. so it's a good chance you not
:)

good luck.
also you can google the question .. and it helps alot too!
