I have written two novels (un-published and amateurish) for which I used the pen name of "T.G. Norton." My real name is Normand, but my head coach in high school couldn't get it correct and called me "Norton" every time! All the other guys picked up on it and called me "The Great Norton" as a joke. I guess they were trying to say I had a big ego. One of my favorite authors at the time was Andrae Norton, who wrote science fiction novels for the "juvenile" market (and many other markets). So when I wrote science fiction I used T.G. Norton as my pen name.

It took me over a year to write my first novel and another for our five months to get it to a publisher. I wanted people to know who I was. I guess it's fine to use a pen name if people know who you are right off hand.

Everyone knows Richard Bachman books are written by Stephen King. JD Robb books are written by Nora Roberts.

I want to establish myself first before hiding my work away under a different name. That's just my opinion.

You mean, what will my pen name be?
Well, I really like the surname Pyper. So I might use that. I have thought about this and was playing around with combos alittle bit. But at the end of the day I might just use me real given name...

Hmmmm. I know you made a mistake or a typo, but you've given me an idea. I think I would use my pet's first name and the Irish last name of a great Boston storyteller: Josie O'Callahan!

What does my pet's name have to do with it, I wonder?

Did you mean PEN name?
I'd probably use my middle name and my maiden name or some combination of names of mine and my mother's or grandmothers' maiden names. Why? Because it's MY writing and I'd like to use MY name or some name related to me.

If at all I should chose a penname I will call myself, TW K Why? Because the initials remain the same.
Or BW K - the initials of my mother's name.

But I would love to publish my books with my name only...

TW K

I would use my initials or my middle name with my last name because when you use a pseudonym, a name that is not yours, who ever you publish with have rights to that name and you can not use it anywhere else.
