What is the brand name and model # of your machine? I would suggest the first thing you do is look up the model # on the internet, you will come across the company's website, and may find a manual and a toll free # to call and they may be able to give you some basic help over the phone. If you are still under the warranty then maybe they will help you fix it or send someone out to look at it. If the warranty has expired, then hopefully it's something you can fix yourself, if not then you would have to find a appliance repair shop in the area. I added some links that may help. Good luck!

At what cycle did it stop? Did it jerk or just stop? What did you have in the washer (anything heavy)? Did any lights go on to say what's wrong? How old is your mahcine?

It could be anything from lint plugging up the washer itself or in the pipes. It could be the washer shook so much that all it needs is to make sure the connection to the wall and to the machine is tight. Or, it could be maybe there's too much weight in the washer and over time it burns out the motor. See if maybe some strings have halted the part that rotates.

until your washing machine gets fixed you can, of course, get a roll of quarters and use the laundromat. While you're there look in the yellow pages and find your nearest appliance repair shop and give them a call. They will fix your washing machine.

It depends on whats wrong.

I had a pillow explode in mine and the motor, I thought went out, when I took off the back pannel, there was pillow fuzz all around it, I removed it and the machine worked fine.

It could just be clogged with fuzz or there could be a string around the twist thing in the middle of it. Also, the lid and the bass of the machine are magnitized, if the magnant isn't working or if it fell off, the machine won't start. thats whey when you open the lid the machine will shut off. If thats the case take a regular magnant and fake out your machine.

Call the Maytag repair man. He seems to be unemployed. But you do need a repair man or to buy a new machine. You might be able to buy an used one.

Well, what is wrong with it? You may want to look and see if there is a toll free number on it or where your purchased it at and see if you can get a service tech out there or call a guy friend to see if he can figure out what is wrong. We can't tell you how to fix it if we aren't sure of the problem.

It depends on what's wrond with it but in general they are very easy to fix. Look for the manufacturer from troubleshooting and parts help.
