There are a number of features in a person's birth chart which affects their appearance. The major ones are as follows:
1) the ascendant or rising sign
2) planets making a powerful aspect to the ascendant
3) planets in the first house
3) the sun sign
4) planets making a major apsect to the sun
For instance, an individual with a Gemini Sun would appear slim and youthful. If their Sun was conjuncted by Venus, this would give their features symmetry and beauty. If they also had a cancer ascendant, this would give them a round face and soft, sensitive eyes.

There is so much we don't understand about the universe. On National Geographic Explorer channel, they have a series called "Naked Science" that has nothing to do with nudity LOL but is all about revealing the science behind nature, mostly related to space. The episode on how the moon affects earth was particularly interesting.
Then there's gamma radiation from the sun, which affects global climate, and a just a single particle could disrupt cell division and cause cancer or instant evolutionary changes in DNA.
And there's the Oceanic Genome project that's showing how microorganisms completely control the planet's climate, and they are the actual dominant top of the chain of life. And who's to say how the motion and position of other planets affect us in other mico-biotic ways.
For all we know an alien race visited earth eons ago and explained all of this, but we were too primative to really understand it and so it became myth and legend that only now science is finally beginning to back up.
I wouldn't hold much faith in the newspaper horoscopes, which necessarilly have to be vague and leave out so many variables that they are really pointless. But there's definitely something to detailed horoscopes, and they aren't generic.
Religions are just another way of understanding and explaining the very complicated underlying science. So, yeah, there could be some astrological criteria that affect your personality and appearance. But mostly it will be simple genetics.

The first clues that i've found about physical appeareance came to me from a Chinese astrologer two years ago. Before that time, my faith in astrology was quite low.
I have since extended my studies to find biological, chemical and historical explanations as of why any one individual's physique would be shaped in a different way because of planetary positions.
Now I think that physical appearance is basically determined by any other planet's proximity or relative position with the earth's, including the Moon. I'm still wondering however, if such huge objects have properties similar to magnets and could affect molecular configuration, as well as allow unique chemical reactions on earth, with particular metals being involved for each planet.
In the affirmative case, such action would alllow the generation of vegetal species unique to each planet, as well as animal species and human species. That does not necesseraly go against the evolutionism credos.
Hence stuff like snails, cereals, birds and Pisces would have first been generated from the Eris planet's influence. Later would have come Uranus with its snakes, algae and scorpios --- consider some intermediate invertebrates too like the leech. Union of both influences could have then lead to the first sexuated, cross species like the (flying) fish and slugs if these are sexuated indeed (not verified yet).
You may add from there a probability of two planets colliding together, so that intermediate planets are ultimately shaped in the solar system. In that sense Neptune could have been the "legendary child" of the first two planets and have given to the earth its first hard insects, lizards, pine trees and Libras.
Please don't laugh at it in spite of the fairy tale looks. Astrology is really a millenium old science based on observation of individuals and of the skies. It has popular roots too, as farmers formerly relied on zodiacal constellations, perhaps only because they could tell precisely when a given plant species/animal would sprout from the ground, out of planetary positions (I know constellations and planets are not the same by the way, but Mars and Venus are at times visible to the naked eye and can be thought of as stars like many planets).
One historical problem that the christian church and others may have had with astrology, and one reason why they'd have damned it, is that such science leads to racism and to predictability of human behaviors based on the instincts associated with each sign. Of course that could have been used as a tool, too, by the same guys on ignorant people.
I thus agree with individuals who do not recommend astrology over common sense.
However, knowledge might be more important to mankind than even a risk of misunderstanding and racism. I think it will thus become a society debate when more people open up to differences established between each sign and relationships with planets, how bizarre and prohibited that may still sound today.

It doesn't affect your appearance. If you think, we are already genetically programmed with our looks before we are born.
So it doesn't matter when you are born, it won't affect your looks.
Astrology may affect how we come across to other people, personality wise, but not how we look.

I'm a Scorpio, I have the serious eyes. This is the only thing that I can recognize. This isn't fact because my mom is a Aquarius and her eyes are so intimidating to me. So I probably got my eyes from her.
