I have been down on pro athletes for some years
now. The offenders, especially Vick should be
thrown out of the league for life.
They have no business doing illegitimate things
with the huge salaries they make.
All pro athletes MUST be held to a high standard.

Come on, you're always going to have these problems. The problems have been ongoing forever and a day. The only reason we are hearing about it is because there was a recent rash of run-ins and Goodell wants to be seen as cleaning up the league. Dating back to the past decade alone you have Jamaal Lewis doing time for consorting with drug dealers, Ray Lewis accused of double murder, OJ, McNair arrested for DUI. The problem isn't going to ever go away.
You have the same problem in other leagues too. MLB has its' fair share. Scott Erickson, Steve Howe, Gooden, Strawberry, Urbina (attempted murder).
At least the NFL doesn't have the steroid problem that MLB has.

What these guys have to remember its a job.If any of us were to do those things we would have been fired. The reason for this is they come from having no money in college ,cause you cant have a full time job ,attend school, and football to hard to do. So they get all this money and its like Guys Gone Wild. You also have to look at the respect level toward your coaches and team mates . Some players show no respect at all toward there coach. The best way to keep this from happening is suspensions, heavy heavy fines, and hey if you mess up you fork over your part signing bonus.

Don't forget AJ Nicholson & Chris Henry from the Bengals....i think the NFL should really be worried...alot of younger kids idolize these players and what types of role models are they being? Whether they want to be role models or not, these kids grow up watching these players and think it is ok to do things that they do....thank goodness for the new commish and his hard stance on player troubles...I am totally in favor of suspension, fines, etc....i mean come on...they get payed millions of dollars to play a kids game, then turn around and act like kids.....fine....the commish should act like their parent and ground them....3 strikes and the players should get life bans from the NFL....just look at the NBA in recent years and the downward spiral its having.....if the NFL doesnt stand firm, they are next!

I think that it is pathetic! These are people who kids look up to and it is horrifying! The NFL needs to really begin to look at themselves in the mirror and make some harsh decisions about what kind of person or persons they employ. Stop babying the players and letting them off with a slap on the wrist, make them be responsible and face the consequence of their actions like any other hard working American that buys tickets and merchandise would have to face!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think they are all behaving like immature, spolied rich kids, which is what they are. They have no respect for the law or authority. I think the new NFL policy will go a long way to help this situation.

These guys make me sick. If a normal average Joe did the things these guys do; we would be in the bottom of some jail rotting away. If you are supposed to be a role model then act like one. I know they did not ask for all of this, but with greatness comes great responsibility!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now, now, I think they're acting normally. I mean with the Commissioner making the statements he did, everyone thinks things are getting out of hand, they really aren't they were just as bad 20 years ago, just now they are cracking down.
