They have just mistaken what we feel, actually. We're not jealous of them, just amazed at their innocent ignorance of what the rest of the world actually does think. Just look at the questions they ask here.

I don't think that all Americans feel that way. Where are you from? Where in the USA have you visited? It highly depends on what part of the USA you visit. I am from Texas, and I can tell you I don't feel that way. You can't stereotype everyone in the US as all thinking the world is jealous of our country. However, I can slightly see where some people would feel that way. We do contribute more money to the world economy than most...But along with that comes more contributions to pollution and global warming. My point is that you can't stereotype and generalize. I don't think everyone thinks like that. Heck, I love living here and having been born here in Texas; but I have no problem with visiting or living in a place like Iceland, the UK, Italy... Just please don't stereotype "everyone."

lol... well we are one of the few in not the only free country in the world. i won't say it's perfect but it's a lot better than a lot of other countries in the world. it's a land of opportunity. there's a reason why we have so many immigrants from all around the world. America must be doing something good.

Because the world obviously is. How many citizens of how many countries would give anything to be able to live in America?

I may be the only one that does not think that. The reason everybody wants to immigrate here is that they have this fatastic vision of what the USA should be.For example, some of my relative think everybody is rich here.Is that true ? NO. I think TV and movies have plenty to do with this.

There are two types of people I meet (I live overseas so I meet many people from all over the world) (1) people who complain, say they hate US, etc. and would secretly give an arm and a leg to live in the US and (2) people who go ahead and admit they would like to live in the US

WHICH ONE ARE YOU?

because so many people from other countries are trying to emigrate here...
so many of the foreign students want to stay. In my experience of Haiti, Dominican Republic, Romania and some middle eastern countries, and india, and thailand, folks I know are not anxious to return to home country and if in that country wish to move to USA.

This seems like a loaded question but possibly because we are free to practice whatever religion we choose, we have a good economy, and there is a small porportion of homeless and jobless?
