Depending on whether the "Trojan" is considered to be a "virus" or a "spyware", one of these will do it.
If you do not already have a virus program, go to http://download.com and look for "AVG Free". If it is a virus, AVG will cleam it. If you already have a virus scanner, do not download AVG. (Only one virus scan to a PC).
Then go to http://download.com and get Spybot Seek&Destroy. Run that and it will clean an spyware you have on the PC.
Both programs are free.

I have used AVG Anti Virus, Zone Alarm Firewall, Spy-bot Search and Destroy and Ad Aware both spyware killers for years. They are all free for personal use and I have had no trouble with Viruses Trojans etc. AVG does not slow the system down as much as some other products and Zone Alarm allows a lot of personal configuration unlike the Windows Firewall. They can all be downloaded from the following link. http://www.computeractive.co.uk/ On the home page select downloads and then the appropriate category.I also use Windows Defender from the Microsoft site. It is safe to use two anti-spy products but never use more than one A/V as it can cause conflicts. You should run A/V and anti spy weekly. Hope this helps.

I like www.majorgeeks.com. It will give you some general troubleshooting tips first, but if the tips don't get rid of the virus for you, you can make a post and someone will walk you through step-by-step how to get rid of the virus. It's worked for me in the past and the people are very nice.

if its a virus do an online scan{1} . if you have go the trojan through internet explorer then use firefox and do an anti spyware scan {2}
1) Do an online virus scan to check and remove virus and spyware if you still have viruses on your computer. And let us know if the online virus scan still finds any virus or spyware .
http://securitynewsfromthenet.blogspot.com/2007/03/online-virus-scan.html
2)If you have not already scanned your comp with spybot http://securitynewsfromthenet.blogspot.com/2007/03/spybot-search-and-destroy-spyware-and.html do that now .Update it and then run it so it gets rid of all the spyware and trojans in safe mode .Then use the immunize feature to block bad sites from secretely installing any more trojan downloaders.
B) Run SUPERAntiSpyware Home Edition (free version)

Usually, if the machine's badly infected I get Crap Cleaner, SpyBot-S&D and AVG Free loaded into the machine in question, then reboot into safe mode by holding F8 at boot time. After that I just scan & heal the smeg out of it, AVG Free, then spybot then CrapCleaner, I do this twice, then I boot back into normal mode. Any infection should have been cleared out.
SpyBot-S&D:

AVG Free:

Ok if you know which trojan is it then go to www.symantec.com and download a removal tool specific for your trojan.
If you are looking generally for software AVG free is a very good solution go to free.grisoft.com and I would also suggest to install a firewall. Sygate Personal Firewall (freeware) is a very good solution http://www.tucows.com/preview/213160.
Both products I use them for more than1 and 1/2 year.
Good Luck!!!!!
