a photon is actually particles (probably 2, but maybe more)
we mistakenly call it a wave because the path taken by the particles looks like a wave from the side. (from the front it looks like a circle or ellipse)

A wave is an undulating motion, matter will move and fall with the wave but will move forward, if it was any other way navigation on the earth's oceans would not be possible.

Current reliable method of transportation is RADIATION.
Take sun for example: Its energy travels in space and comes to earth without any vehicle or medium. It travels in space.
The same principle is used to transmit radio, TV, cell phone signals.
Another useful example is laser beams.

Wave action is the circulate of capability from particle to particle of a medium, the place the debris vibrate approximately their recommend place. however the internet displacement of the debris is 0. Mechanical waves like sound waves commute by way of wave action. remember : in wave action, it particularly is the disturbance that travels no longer the debris of the medium.

electromagnetic wave like visible light are said to be build of photons, sort of like a packet of enegry.
Quantum physic also states that all fundamental force (strong, weak and EM force) works through a imaginary particle called boson (I think so, matter is fermion IIRC).
And now they are looking for the fourth particle, graviton for gravity force.
