sex offenders database?? Did you already know or did you find out by searching?? Was it a surprise???
I do and ever since I found out I won't talk to him.

i didn't think i did....until i checked it out one day. turns out three or four people i knew were on there; one of them was one of my son's friends when they were young. scary, isn't it?

Actually, I do....and not just one person :| I live out in the country (about 17 miles from the nearest town) and a couple of years ago, my "neighbor" who lived 1.5 miles away was a rapist and he is in the database. I knew because someone told me & then it was in the paper. I wasn't surprised.
The other few that I know of totally shocked me. I found out by word of mouth and by searching online. I won't talk to any of the people because really, I have no use for people who do such things as molest & rape.

Yes. I know 4 people. I didn't know until I searched my home town and found a kid I knew in high school (statutory rape) and someone's father (abused his wife). The 3rd guy (a 19 year old child molester) was someone I met elsewhere and a friend found him in the database. The 4th guy was someone I knew from a bar and he's listed for a rape from 20+ years ago when he was a teenager. He's one of those borderline homeless guys who's always drunk and on the street. I searched my old work zip code and found him.

yep. I know two. One is my good friends moms boyfriend, who raped an 80 year old woman. The other is a man who lived right down the road from me and I had no idea he was a sex offender until another neighbor brought it to EVERYONES attention. The rapist is now in jail-the child molester died of a heart attack in his own front yard.

I found a guy I went to school with....totally freaky!! It didn't surprize me because in school he was a total weirdo as was the rest of his family.

I know of some of the people on them from school and i know one because i was one of his victims.It is shocking to read familar names

no... but i saw that there were several in the neighborhood around me (which is one of the top 3 safest neighborhoods in town)... all were for aggravated sexual assault.
SO SCARY!!!!
made me reconsider my evening walks alone...

..i dont know anyone, but i check it regularly becuz of my son...(i want to know my neighbors)...
