There are some different theories available; a million.) That the universe is in a great cycle, that its capability is continuous and whilst a undeniable growth is reached, that like a balloon dropping its air, will crunch back right into a single element and start up all over again. 2.) That different universes exist in parallel to one yet another and basically as quickly as the textile of those universes meet can we comprehend a great bang with a clean universe created 3.) can no longer remember yet am specific there are a decision that are much less publicized that exist as nicely

Steady State Theory, which says that the univers is, was and will always be the way it is right now, there's no begining and no ending. It propose that the universe continuously creates matter as it expands.
But most scientist today accepts Big Bang theory

BB or CC? During the 60's, it was either Big Bang (cataclysmic) or Continuous Creation (steady state). The British astronomer Fred Hoyle espoused the steady state and denied the cataclysmic, but gave way to the Big Bang when his hypothesis was deemed unworkable. Ironically, he coined the term Big Bang for a theory he didn't believe in at first!

Super string theory or M theory. The Universe is closer than the shirt on your skin yet big enough to house everything we know about it including our selves.
It currently has 11 dimensions and an infinite number of parallel universes that are created and destroyed any number of times.
Scientist are currently able to produce miniature universes inside laboratories right now but they only last for a micro second or so.
The interesting part about this? What if our universe was one created in someones lab and it only lasted for a micro second to them but is an eternity for us?
Or what if we are just a form of bacteria on somethings skin?
We will probably never know.........
Oh and if you happen to find my peanut butter and jelly sandwich somewhere in the universe let me know......I'm still kinda hungry!

Read Genesis and you'll understand. Don't believe in the Bible? Well think of it this way, how is the big bang possible? Who created it? God created the universe.

Try reading the book of Genesis in The Holy Bible. If you can not take it on faith alone, read about "The first mover" by either Aristotle or Socrates, I think. Also, read St. Thomas Aquinas essay on the proof of God.

There's that silly notion that earth is ~6000 years old and some little man in the sky said "poof", and there earth was.
