LSU fans...the best I might add, it was sad about Mike V. He will be greatly missed. I'm just trying to find out if anyone has heard if we will get a new tiger, especially before football season. Thanx

Mike V will go down in history as LSU's greatest mascot of all time because of the great success the Tigers have had in most sports in Mike V's lifetime. During Mike V's reign as mascot at LSU, the Tigers won five national titles in baseball, 23 national titles in track and field, one national championship in football and 37 SEC titles in all sports. LSU will soon be introducing Mike VI who will be loved by all Tiger fans. Mike V had been in bad health for the last six months and had surgery Wednesday to remove 10 liters of fluid from around his lungs. Mike died as a result of kidney failure that resulted from the anesthesia, according to the Advocate. It wouldn't be Death Valley without Mike so yes LSU is going to get a new cub. The city's paper The Advocate said they're going to try and get another male bengal cub, but they want to take their time because not just any bengal tiger will do for more reasons than just the fact that he would be the latest chapter in the story of one of the most beloved mascots ever. However it wouldn't surprise me if they already had one in mind, Mike was likely going to be retired either at the end of the upcoming season or the next. He was already 17, two years older than when his predecessor Mike IV retired which is pretty old for a captive tiger and none of the Mikes ever made it past 19 while being the mascot. Too bad though to die on the operating table and on the day of commencement. Sad

Im bummed about Mike V. They are looking for a bengal tiger cub already. He will be well fed so he can grow up strong. First meal of the season will be Miss State's wimpy bulldog :)
