An engine of that vintage will need machining. The block will have to be line bored, reamed & honed. New pistons/pins, new bearings, heads resurfaced, new valves/guides, new cam/chain/bearings, new oil pump, crank ground, connecting rods resized.
If you do not have the proper tools to do it right, then send it out.

Cost $1500 + + + depending on what performance parts are installed
