I've been away for 8 years..meaning that I've lived here in the UK for 8 years (I'm from the States) but I try to go home at least once a year. My next trip home is only a few weeks away and I can't wait. The homesickness I feel whenever I board that plane to come back here gets worse and worse each time.

I was away for nine months traveling Alaska, Washington, Vancouver, Oregon, California, and Mexico, and Vegas- I would do it all over again if I didn't have pets and a child.
I wrote home and missed it a little, but wouldn't have traded what I was doing for a day at home during that time!
It will be over before you know it and you will be home soon with great memories (hopefully).
