If it is an already existing script, the pharmacist can call another pharmacy to fill it, but don't expect him to find the phone number for you - they're busy people. If it's a new script, it has to be hand delivered. A script written in the USA is good anywhere in the country, but if it's for a controlled substance like an opiate or a tranquilizer, expect questions.

If you are a new customer at CVS pharmacy, you need to call your doctor and have him call in the prescription to the CVS pharmacy you want to pick up your prescription at. It would be handy, when you call your doctor, to give him the number of the CVS pharmacy you want him to call the prescription in to. You will need to pay for your meds when you pick them up, either with a credit card or pay cash.

Yes, as long as it is not a schedule 2 drug, your doctor can call in an emergency prescription. This happens all the time with travellers who forget their medications.

Yes they can. If you have refills on your prescription and its from a franchise pharmacy such as CVS or Walgreens, etc., you can just take you bottle to the pharmacy and they will take care of it.
