Myth/folklaw about rainbows?

I saw a Chinese movie that presents this land's rainbow tale. Ying Tai wanted to have an education like a boy, so she dressed like one and attended college. She became close to Hsien Po. When they graduated, they went home together, since they lived near one another. On the trip, Ying Tai admitted she was a girl, and the pair vowed eternal love. Fathers chose who their children would marry, so Ying Tai had an unwelcome fiancee when she arrived home. She was confined to her room for refusing to marry the man her father chose. Hsien Po was upset when he learned what was afoot and died of a broken heart. Ying Tai said she would marry the man chosen if she could visit Hsien Po's grave on the way to her wedding. At the grave, she prayed to Kwan Yin godess of mercy who had once been a human and had been executed for defying her father's wishes about marrying a man he chose for her. Kwan Yin was sympathetic and caused the grave to open and swallow Ying Tai. After that, the lovers are together forever and are the rainbow. Ying Tai has a gay pao (robe) of red, orange and yellow. Hsien Po wears one of green, blue and violet.

the first rainbow came about after the great flood. the world was so wicked and everyone thought evil things continually so God decided to destroy all the wickedness. there was only one man who was not wicked, his name was Noah. God told Noah to build a huge boat and to gather a male and a female of every livign thing and put it on the boat. then Noah, his wife and his three sons and their wives got inside the boat (ark) and God shut them inside. then it rained for 40 days and nights, and foutains inside of the earth broke open and covered the enitre world up to the tops of the mountains. after a while the water went down and teh ark came to rest on the mountain of Ararat. God opened the door of the ark and they all came out, then God made the first rainbow in the sky as a promise to all people that he would never destroy the earth again with a flood. that's why rainbows show up after it rains.
