There are a couple of companies that make season-long grass and weed killers. Ortho and Bayer are two that come to mind. Oh, and Spectracide... Go to Lowes or Home Depot or Wal Mart.

Round up is the best. Spray the green leaves not the roots because it's absorbed through the green foliage of the plant. It is best to do when the sun is shining, usually mid day. You can purchase it at any home improvement or gardening store.

I don't know if it is legal, but we used to buy a 1/4 gallon of diesel gas and run it through a sprayer. Check with the city before you do this, I am sure your homeowners insurance won't cover a fire from this... and for the record, I won't either. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS< I AM MERELY TELLING YOU WHAT I HAVE DONE IN THE PAST.

For a non-toxic remedy, use vinegar. It will kill ants as well. For a little stronger solution mix 1 gallon vinegar, one cup salt and one cup dish soap. The dish soap helps the mixture cling to the grass. It works pretty quickly.

Round Up. Purchase at any garden or hardware store.
TIP: It works best on a warm sunny day. Spray it on when you know it won't rain for at least a few days.

My grandfather always poured gasoline or kerosine on the cracks on the side walk to kill the grass. Easy & handy since you have it in your gas can while mowing.

Can't we all get along? I read the previous posts of dog urine killing grass, and now the grass is coming up in cracks in asphalt and concrete? There oughta be a law! Get the dog to urinate in the right places!
