A computer Virus is a program that acts somewhat like a human virus.

It is allowed in through carelessness or by its own stealth and replicate itself. This replication take time away from your computer time.

While you want your computer to do one thing it is both replicating virus and your request.

Once there are lots of viruses they can actually take up so much space on the hard disc that you loose data.

NO, There was not enough said before.

You must practice safe computing.
Don't click yes just to make an annoying pop-up dissapear.
Don't open attachments to emails from friends unless you really trust the content.
Don't even open email from people you don't know.

Read with confidence web pages and store pages that have a large following. Yahoo, Sears, Wal-mart, Godiva Chocolate. They have a stake in whether they are passing viruses.

If you follow all these rules you may not even need a virus protector. (They also slow down the computer)
I suggest Webroot Spy sweeper Virus portector over the others. www.webroot.com
