Hi,
I have a 1991 Hyundai Excel and am currently using premium high octane (98+) fuel in.
I have read that sometimes using premium fuel in older cars has no benefits and can sometimes increase overall running costs. As I am a student I don't want to be wasting money on petrol, but want whats best for my car.
Does anyone know what fuel I would be best using?
Thankyou
Bria

You are wasting money on such model. The engine by now should be throwing black out particles out of your exhaust and the bumper on top of the exhaust pipe is blackened. My advise is to get a Charade or a older Sunny a better bet!

92 grade is okay for engine compression ration of 9.5 : 1 for the excel.

they did a study on fuels your computer compensates for it it doesn't mater what you use your car runs the same as the oxy sensors are able to let the computer adjust the mixture to compensate for what ever you put in they did a report on it on get gephart Chanel 2 news salt lake city Utah its not a treat for your car to run the expensive stuff its a waste of money save $.20 per gallon by choosing regular and laugh at all those waisting cash on the extra fuel costs

this does not apply to older carberated cars you need to re tune them to run what ever fuel you use
