Somebody stole my answer, gordie howe and maurice richard. When Maurice was mad once, he walked right through a wooden door. Saw it on his biography.

Dino Ciccarelli used to take a beating in front of the net.

Bobby Hull and Gordie Howe were pretty tough as was Messier.

I'd say Gordie Howe, but I have to give a mention to Pat Verbeek. Impressive amount of tough in a small guy.

I agree with you Andrew but I'm dropping Hull and putting in Rocket Richard. Not that Hull wasn't tough at all, he was strong and powerful, but not many Lady Byng winners really cut the mustard in my book of tough. So my top 3 (in no particular order)

Dino Ciccarelli
Gordie Howe
Maurice Richard
