Basically the surgery was an incisional hernia repair combined with a tummy tuck.

Double check with your surgeon before traveling.

Are you back to normal activities yet?

What type of traveling? Air? Ground? Sea?

You should always check with your surgeon on these kinds of things. There may be circumstances special to you that could affect the decision to travel. And of course, you don't mention what kind of traveling you are thinking of doing. A weekend at the beach is a bit different than say, climbing Mount Everest!

One thing you should be careful about is that post-surgery your immune system can be a bit compromised and you can be more susceptible to other illness. You should consider taking an immune booster like Immune Alert to keep you immune system ready and working at its peak. My family takes it daily for overall immune health, but the research also shows in is good for post-operative patients. (check it out at www.immunealert.com)

Good luck with your recovery and Happy travels if you go!

Usually long distance travel will be permitted after 6 weeks. The surgeon will decide the patient’s fitness for travel depending on recovery from the surgery.

It's always wise to discuss with your surgeon as he/she will definitely tell you after a check up. I would not travel without having a check-up.
Good luck!

That one's up to your doctor. I have had surgery many times and never travel without getting approval of my doctor first. I don't think it will be a problem, but play it safe, ask the doctor first.

If you feel pretty much recovered, I would think it would be Okay, unless your surgeon gave you some restrictions at your post-op visit.
It wouldn't hurt to call your doctor's office and ask, though.
