Please do not be offended, but it is difficult to determine what you are asking. Do you mean "defoliant." This would be DDT or "Agent Orange." Try that. Good luck!

The My Lai "Massacre" was an horrific incident in which American soldiers ran amok and killed many innocent Vietnamese in a village by that name. HOWEVER -- you MUST do research on the subject to even graze the surface of why and how such things happened in that awful war.
Our soldiers never knew when they were going to be approached by a mother carrying an infant who would then blow up herself, and her child, in their midst causing as many casualties as possible. Villages thought to be pro-American were often not - and hid Northern (Communist) sympathizers who would jump out of nowhere and start killing our boys.
Many mistakes were made - many lives on both sides were needlessly lost - but to try to explain it in, even, a few pages is laughable. It can't be done. Lt. William Calley (sp?) led the platoon that was ordered to take out that village and he WAS prosecuted for War Crimes and did serve some time.
Try Googling Viet Nam War/My Lai Massacre/Lt. Wm. Calley. There should be a lot of info on it. Good luck!!

i don't really get what your question is about, but the mai lai massacre was a small, insignificant incident that got the US army into a lot of trouble. compareable acts by the viet-cong are never reffered to, but any impartial student of history knows that such acts were the reason that vietnam won the war. i'm not promoting such despicable acts, but had the western media been more responsible and less biased in its reporting, perhaps america would have won the war.
