If i were nineteen all over again.
I would try to do things more for myself, ALL OVER again!
And that was:
I changed my diet. To a much healthier one
I excercised every day for the next five years!
I went to bars and clubs... almost three times a week, not to smoke not to drink in excess, but to socialize and dance! I let loose.
I continued with school and tried to better myself, intellectually....
I rode my bike whenever i could.
I learned how to cook (not university meals), but gourmet meals (thanks to the FOOD NETWORK!)
I read a book/novel for fun (one book every two months)
I began reading the newspaper (for better insight)
I tried to make it a goal to travel more too.
(vacation at least once a year!) somewhere diff each year! save $25 /week is enough to get you to an all inclusive resort! (just don't drink coffee! that'll save you enough!?)
Frequent BBQ's at my place...hosting routine social events, network eventually spreads, thus they host them too.
All in all, being 19 was an age where i could do anything i wanted... and start a new life!
I refrain, not on purpose, but i refrain from speaking with ALL my high school friends. NO SIMILAR INTERESTS. My new friends have similarities in interests and goals as i do. I am healthier and Leaner than i was ten years ago. (Better Health:something most people are finding less time o do for themselves today;its a lifestyle and changing it while you are young is probably the easiest time to do it)
Travel has been the best and most important change in my life.
I eventually saved enough to go back packing to Australia! Ahhh... what a treat. 3 months of exploring and meeting fellow back packers!
Not to mention, finding 'ones self'.
You come back: FOCUSED in life and are willing and able to conquer any of your goals!!
anyways, that was me
hope it helps
good luck

Exploration is the way to go. Try doing some things that don't on the surface appeal to you, and take you out of your comfort zone. e.g. if you think you don't like art go to an art museum and take a tour with a knowledgeable guide. You don't like sport? Take some beginner tennis lessons at your local tennis courts. Go to parts of a book store or library that you would not usually go to, and browse at random.
You need to approach these things with an open and enthusiastic mind.

Meet a new friend, take a course at the local college, browse at the bookstore, go to a library, browse the internet, etc.
