Well, first off thats kind of a weird question. That's like saying...are people wierd if they dont like a certain food or a certain color. Everyone has a personal preferance, religion, or reason for their actions. Some people might not drink because of the mean things they have done to others. Or, maybe because of the mean things they have seen others do while drinking. I used to drink in college...now i have children and a family so I dont go out and party anymore so I rarely drink anyway. my mother is also a very bad alcoholic and I wouldnt ever want to turn out that way. So in conclusion I think its great if someone drinks and can control their behavior. But drinking and acting like a moron is silly. Also, if they choose not too then maybe they just dont want to end up regreatting something they did while drunk...

I say to each their own. Whether you choose to partake in alcholoic beverages or steer clear should have no major role in making you a good or bad, boring or fun person. You are who you are regardless of whether you are drinking or not. I do not have the opinion that this makes you dull or admirable. I suppose your reasons could provide a means to an implication of such, but without being able to know your character and what your motives for not drinking are I cannot imply.

I drink on occasion (2-3 times a year), but from experience I would say you are admirable. If you choose not to drink, I think that is very comendable, but the fact that you judge others for being of weaker constitution makes you sound like you put yourself on a pedistal. It is wonderful that you havn't fallen prey to peer pressure, or used alcohol a getaway from depression as most people do, but to say that you are a better person because you don't drink also says something not so nice about your character. It falls under that whole "Do not judge, lest ye be judged" catagory.

I think of it as a choice that they make. My sister has never drank alcoholic beverages, but I did for about 13 years. I stopped drinking 4 years ago. It hasn't changed the type of person I am, I'm the same, I just don't drink.

I have no problem with those who choose not to drink alcholic beverages. I believe they have a reason for not doing so. They could be: afraid of losing control, alcoholism may run in the family so they are afraid of becoming like that, do not like the taste, believe that alcohol is evil, or just plain just dont like it. I am very open to different beliefs and everyone should be able to express themselves without being judged.

They are admirable and I'll tell you why. People all have reasons why they drink or not drink. Some people like myself have a history of family abuse of alcohol. I ignored that and fell deep into the curse but luckily got out of it. People have reasons that are deeply rooted in their family. You have to respect that. Also, people on medicine, even anti-depressants are not allowed to take alcohol. The person will likely not admit they are doing the drug and make excuses about not wanting to drink. There's usually a deeper reason.

I refuse because once I start, I can't stop and I do terrible things. I'm in AA. I used to get annoyed with people who didn't drink because I didn't understand it but now that I do, I think it's admirable. BUT, I only understand non-drinkers who are alcoholics, not people who just don't drink for no apparent reason.

You dont have to have alchol to have a good time . I think that is wonderful , good for you !!!!!!!!!!!!
Are they dull or admirable , I would say its an opinion you have the right as well as the one has the right to drink . it does not make you any less. If you dont like drinking ,then just dont go where it is .

People who refuse to drink alcohol are not any different to people who refuse to drink coffee. I hate coffee, does that make me dull? The sky won't fall in because you don't drink alcohol.

Maybe they have a good reason...I'm a recovering alcoholic, so I refuse, but when I was drinking, I thought they were dull.
