I think that there is only one REAL DEMOCRAT left in congress, the only one I would vote for and that is JOE LIEBERMAN and he isn't even running.
I would like to see him and a Republican in the White House.

If the Democratic Socialists of America is the new name for the Communist Party of America, I do not think that anyone publicly identifies with it.
The short answer is that I do not remember, but there is an independent socialist in the House from Vermont - Sanders - I think. There also used to be some caucus in the Democratic party in the 1980s that cozied up to the Sandinistas in Nicaragua. That connection might help in looking into it. I do not know where Senator Frank Church or Senator George McGovern stood, but that is all in the past.

Both Democrats and Republicans together will slowly adopt "socialist" ideals and policies.
