We need to spend less, and MAKE SURE it's being spend where we need it, not HOPE it's being spent where we need it.
Democrats see that edu is going down the chute, and they just think that if they throw a couple more thousand dollars in per student, it would get better.
It's not just democrats either. If the dems vote on more money per student, and they don't watch where it's going, shouldn't Bush force them too, or he could do it himself?
And shouldn't we threaten to cut funding from public schools that don't have accreditation, unless they improve.

Get better national statistics, I do not believe that much is universally spent per child all over the US. In my state the range is,say, $5000 to $15000 which is an average of $10,000 per child but that average is nowhere close to the whole story. It's great for the rich districts but I'd hate to try to learn in the underfunded school system.
It's so easy for you to say stop spending money, just as it is easy to say spend more.
How 'bout a real suggestion for a real answer.

Like so many "neocon" questions, it asks you to answer a question based on a so called "fact." In this case you've no clue what you're talking about. As an example, in Washington State, a northern state which pays much more than southern states per child, the State pays approximately $5,200 per child for BEA or Basic Education Act students. These are the regular classroom students. Vocational students, due to the nature of the classes which include extensive use of various types of equipment are funded at approximately $6,400. This amount varies from district to district based on their "Leap Schedule." The Leap Schedule calculates each teacher in the districts position on the salary schedule based on number of years of experience and level of education. Further funding is available at the option of the local voters through levies, but these require a super majority of 60%. You might to well to quit listening to talk radio and open a book or newspaper and read. It might help to mitigate the brainwashing you're receiving at the hands of hate radio and its television equal of Faux News.

Throwing money at the problem isnt going to help. Unfortunately kids are not being disciplined. They whine and cry and the system caves. Their parents whine and cry and the system caves. Whats the point of making rules, when we dont make people follow them.

Keeping thinking like this and in no time the USA will have the dumbest kids around. Nice to know you value your child's education and future.
Whatever it takes to keep our schools competitive with other countries schools and ensure that American children have all the same advantages they do is what is needed.
Money for war but not education, I guess that makes sense if all you want the kids to grow up to be is just soldiers for a war of choice anyway.
