You love animals. Im assuming you have pets of your own, or have had in the past. And Im assuming you dont have children, because if you did you would probably be upset by both kids and animals getting hurt. You cant imagine how it feels to be a parent until you are one.
But if to you, those animals you care for are like children, its great that you care for them so much and people like you are the kind that animals need to defend them. Have you thought about working in animal welfare? With your feelings you would probably do the job with a passion. Animals need more defenders.
And one day if you have kids of your own, it wont diminish your love for animals, it will be divided up between your kids and the pets and you will raise your kids to love animals too.
Think about it.

Yes and no. From my point of view, Yes. From PETA's, No.

I am the complete opposite. I get mad when I see people going out of their way to help injured animals but ignore the sad and lonely child sitting on the park bench with no friends. That child is far more important, and potentially dangerous.

While I do support charities striving to maintain our wildlife, I do not waste my time on those designed for domesticated animals. Yes, I do own two cats and have owned multiple other pets in my past, but they are my responsibility and no one else's. While I hate to see an animal suffer, I'd rather see that money go to starving children in Africa, AIDS suffers, or any other charity designed to benefit the human race. It's a matter of prorities for me: Humans, Wildlife, and then Pets.

Of course the domesticated animals get broken into categories as well. A cow raised for food is more important than a cat raised for comfort.

But I'm a realist, and that's just me. Other people let other factors effect their opinions and I habor no adverse opinions of people who do feel the way you do. Nature has a funny way of filling in the gaps.

I am just the same, I cry during documentries an they show a lion chasing a zebra an then he catches it.
I dont feel a thing when I find out a person has been assaulted.
I guess its because animals dont no any better, where as humans are clever an understand a lot more. But I also find it sad when I see a less abled person get bullied ie at school.

no i dont think its strange at all. i get really upset if i hear of an animal being hurt or mistreated and i think its down to the fact that animals just cant defend themselves or spek up - they really are 100% innocent and have done nothing to deserve such treatment

the same goes for children tho aswell - espec when really young.

If so then you are not alone, many people are more obviously upset by animal abuse, but perhaps it is because we feel we can do more about it somehow or even because it is less heart searing and easier to manage in some meaningful way than our deeper feelings about human abuse of humans.

I think it's worse when people hurt animals because the animals cannot speak or reason so they have no idea what is happening to them, why it is happening or how long it will last.

But to be honest it is appalling when anyone hurts animals OR children.

oh god you r just like my sister. she can watch things about kids being hurt and be like ah bless but show her a dog being hurt and she cries!!! its pathetic. if people spent as much time and money worrying about the children of the world it would be a nicer place to live

I do too,,,,I think it's because unlike adults and children, animals don't know any better...they don't deserve being hurt..

It's odd that you asked that...I wonder about myself sometimes because I cannot watch movies or read anything about animals being hurt or abused. I just can't stand it.
