I have a Linksys wireless router. We rebooted it a few days ago b/c my son's desktop computer wouldn't hook up to the internet. His problem is fixed but now my 2 laptop computers can't find my wireless internet connection. My one laptop is about 3 feet away from it so it can't be signal strength. Help !!!

one laptop is a gateway, op sys windows xp home 2002; the other is a compaq presario, op sys is windows xp pro 2002. I had unplugged and walked around and did a few things before turning everything back on - so it was longer than a minute.

And yes, my laptops will still find and connect to other connections (I took them to school to make sure that it was a problem at home and not with the modem).

When you rebooted how long did you leave the router unplugged. (I have seen this happen when the plug is just removed and almost immediately reconnected.)
When rebooting unplug the router - wait one full minute - reconnect.

If you reset to default by hitting the small button on the back.. you will need to log back into the router and set your wireless settings back to the proper security etc.

Two questions please let me know.

Oprating System -
Brand of computer -

Try and see if it's just blocked in properties. If it is just enable it. I know my laptop has optations besides just the sliding key to shut wifi off and it happens at times.

If it is enabled can you connect to other networks? the only other thing i can think of is mabye you didn't set up the desktop correctly and you on accadent set his system up for the full connection instead of going to routor than back to him.
