It may help distract a fat catcher.
It may be the sugar jolt you are looking for before you go up there.
It may smush into a lot of pieces if you leave it on during the AB, and maybe cause some confusion like a broken bat does.
I think it sounds like a good idea.
Keep up the good questions!

Clearly it would. Here's my logic: glazed donuts are high in calories. Everybody knows that if we eat a bunch of glazed donuts, we will gain a lot of weight. Therefore, logically, the same must happen if we were to put the glazed donuts on a baseball bat. The bat would get heavier, leading it to cause more damage to a pitched ball, sending the ball into the field farther and faster. Now, you do want to be careful about wiping the glaze off the handle and the barrel of the bat because that would cause a slippery substance and the ball/bat may not have as good of a grip.

Now, your other option is to just buy a heavier bat because then you don't have to deal with the psychological problems from your bat that come with increased weight gain.

The only thing a glazed donut would do on a baseball bat is be there for you when you were hungry and wanted a snack.. the donut that you were referring to is a metal donut which players put on their bats and swing around to warm up with while they are waiting for their turn at bat in the on deck circle... they do this because when they do come to bat the bat itself will feel lighter and they will get a better swing...I think it is probably more pyscholigical than beneficial.. but the practice has been used for years... and stay off the glazed donuts they put weight on you.. not the bat

Yes, if you're facing Bartolo Colon. I don't think he'd be able to concentrate on pitching with a tasty glazed donut in his field of vision. Actually, he'd probably charge the batter and shove the donut in his mouth, delaying the game.
