I can't answer on the mirena coil but from having learned about it from the company as far as things it shouldn't be used for one of the things I learned from the company info is that it is not meant to be used in women who have endometriosis.

As for hysteroscopy yes, I have had one of these done. I had it done in 1999 to check to make sure I didn't have other polyps going on inside of me after my dr found one at the top of my cervix. The polyp was benign but when they occur they can cause irregular bleeding.

The procedure should take about half an hour from start to finish depending on the reason for why he's doing (meaning if he's looking for something in particular). You will be in recovery for about an hour.

There may be some bleeding for a couple weeks or so after the procedure but this is normal and it is because the uterus has been invaded. But the bleeding does clear up as a norm. If it continues past 2 weeks then please get in touch with your dr.

I found out from the anesthesiologist when I had my hysteroscopy done that one of the things the dr was going to do was inject a local in to my cervix when I was already under. The reason for this was to make sure I felt no cramping for some time after the procedure and it worked wonderfully. I don't know what medication she used during that part of the procedure.

A hysteroscopy is often done (and sometimes with another procedure) to check for reasons that someone could be having problems with irregular bleeding which can also act like a menstrual period.

If you have any other questions please feel free to e-mail or IM me directly off Yahoo Answers.

I wish you well with your procedure and that you get the answers you need.
