Their names were taken off a house they invested a great deal of money in, and the profit did not go to them. The way I understand Medicaid laws, if they need to go into a nursing home in the next five years, they could be penalized 7 to 15 months. I have evidence of the deed and their loan being paid off. I believe they know their names are off the loan and they must have been coerced to not receive any of the money. I have called a medicaid lawyer and she says call the police. I have talked to a detective and he says drop it because medicaid probably won't find out. I want to let my parents know what is going on, but am afraid they may take my name off as power of attourney so I will be unable to interfere with whoever is exploiting them. I appreciate any insight into this matter.

If you have any reason to suspect that an elderly person may be victimized in any way, call 1-800-490-8505 to find the Area Agency on Aging that serves your county.
