I'm quite superstitious... I NEVER walk under ladders, I avoid the number 13 as much as I can, I bury broken mirrors(really!) if I bang my elbow I bang the other one, I salute single magpies....its quite pathetic really!

Deep down, I 'm truly not superstitious. But for fun, I avoid walking under ladders, opening umbrellas indoors, and I tend to think twice when a black cat crosses my path.

I also "psych myself up" for physical challenges by doing things like clicking my teeth 3 times between telephone poles if I'm going up a hill (speedwalking) or if I am afraid of something I'm able to "trick" myself into being brave, by performing some irrational activity like a certain breathing pattern.

P.S. Fun to read about magpies---never heard of superstitions about them...barely even know what they are---a sort of crow or blackbird?

I'm so superstitious, I will not go out if I drop my comb while doing my hair for fear that I will not meet the man of my dreams.
Superstition: if you drop your comb/brush while doing your hair, you will miss your chance with a friend.
