They went into the season knowing that their pitching would be a problem. They also knew that they had a powerful lineup which they hoped would compensate their weak pitching. Their plan was to try and out score the other teams until their pitching staff got healthy. What they weren't planning on was for the lineup to go cold. Much of their lineup is just not hitting at the moment. That won't last forever plus slowly but surely their pitchers are starting to get healthy again. It's still early in the season so they have time to get it together. They should be okay for the late run.

Because they do not know how to win. All the Yankees have done for the past few years is throw money at the best players. One problem, the best players do not always yield a World Series. A team needs chemistry, which New York lacks (see AROD/Jeter).

This year, their pitching sucks as well as a lack of chemistry. At one point, thier bullpen was statistically worse than that of the Royals. With aging pitching and missing out on Dice-K, if that is really a huge miss, the Yanks failed to upgrade thier pitching, and it will keep them out of the playoffs this season.

Pitching has been the issue for the Yankees this year. The starting rotation has had too many injuries. They lost Mussina, Wang, Kartstens and Pavano (no surprise there), and Igawa has pretty much been a flop. This caused them to bring up Phil Hughes, he gets injured. Then the bullpen goes flat from being overworked. Rivera on the otherhand has been underworked, he's only had five chances to save a game and blew 2 of them and it's the end of May.

Maybe, just maybe, because their pitching is so bad!! The veterans they rely on like Petite and Mussina are not coming through, and the rest of their makeshift staff is just not up to major league performances. The problem is, that as pathetic as they are, the organization will not recognize that and instead of beginning a rebuilding program, will stick with the status quo. The end result?? Yankees continue to lose!!

Chow!!

THE YANKEES SEEM TO THINK THEY CAN BUY UP ALL THE GOOD PLAYERS AND THAT IT MAKES THEM A WINNING TEAM BUT THEY HAVE GONE DOWNHILL EVER SINCE THEY STARTED BUYING ALL THE BIG NAME PLAYERS. HAVING BIG NAME PLAYERS DOESNT MAKE YOU A WINNING TEAM BUT HAVING PLAYERS THAT WORK WELL TOGETHER MAKES A WINNING TEAM AND I DONT THINK THEY HAVE THAT.
