I'm a guy and I'm going to my cousin's outdoor wedding next month. I have never been to a wedding before and I need to know. Would a long sleeve white collared shirt, black slacks, and a tie work?

Your idea is perfect. You want to dress nicely and avoid looking too casual. Wearing slacks, a white collar shirt and nice tie sounds great! Have fun!!

Yes if it gets too warm you could wear a white short sleeve shirt.

Sounds like you're playing it safe. I'm sure you'll look very suave.
If you have any concerns you could always ask the bride how formal the wedding is going to be.

Yes it would be ok but be careful of the tie when you start the drinking bit there is usually no reason why you cannot take it off when you get into it ~~
