I'm not expecting anyone to come or call but it still goes through my mind. Not so much the phone as that is right beside me and it has a red light that flashes when it rings, but the door might be someone with an on-the-spot survey and cash prize ...... You never know.

I worry about people saying things to me and my not hearing them and appearing rude.

When you are out (at work for example) people ring or call and are disappointed.
If you have headphones on then the same should apply.
Sometimes I don't even need headphones.
If I don't want to be disturbed - I ignore it!!
As to on-th-spot-surveys and instant cash prize announcers - beware of the VERY CROSS MAN

If I have my headphones on I don't plan on answering the door or the phone. I'm a musician and its one way to get a form of complete privacy while I practice - something that is necessary to a good practice session.

Not really i actually dont like talking on the phone its kinda bizarre because i can have a long conversation face to face but not on the phone =D

I always feel a bit on edge when wearing headphones, in case I miss something! I think I am just too nosy for my own good!

I don't use ear phones at home, but if I have blast music on the stereo and my door closed, then, yes I do!
