Hi Sheida

The basic rule for ANY presentation is:

Tell them what you're going to tell them
Tell them
Tell them what you've just told them.

Always start by giving the presentation a title, a summary of what it will cover, what the listeners will get from it, and what, if anything, they will be expected to do afterwards.

Keep the presentation to 40 minutes MAXIMUM, 30 minutes is better.
Tell the audience what they actually NEED to know - NOT everything that you know.

Divide the presentation up into chunks of around 7-8 minutes each (10 minutes maximum) with ONE key point in each segment. Have a clear transition between segments so people understand where each one finishes and the next one starts. That will help them to concentrate better.

DO NOT carry a point all the way through the presentation - people will lose track.

When you get to thend of what you want to say give a brief, clear summary of everything you've said (do NOT go back over the details), then STOP.
If you think you've missed something (in the summary) let it be. If anyone is really interested they can ask about it afterwards.

Be unique by keeping your presentation brief but complete, clear, and by by giving people an understanding ALL THE WAY THROUGH of what's going on.

Get good at giving presentations before you worry about things like being unique. Believe me, there are very few people, even professionals, who can even manage a "good" presentation.

Follow the prescribed format of presentation. Make it short.
Make it quick. Be ready with visuals.
Dont ask the audience too many questions.
There are 2 types of people in the audience for scientific lectures. 1- Those who need to fill up their requirements of attending scientific lectures and 2. Those who have heard of your work and are truly interested.

Number 2 will ask the right questions. Number 1 will just leave the room when it is over.
