i wanted to give access files & folder of my pc to my client through ftp so what is the whole procedure to do so

The easiest method would be to use WarFTP. They have a server version and it works well. (for windows)

Once installed you simply add FTP users to the menu.

You will then need to port forward your router.
You need port 21 forwarded to the machine running the server. You should see this setting in your routers setup pages.
While looking in the router, just get the IP address that is shown in the status page. (WAN or INTERNET address)


Thats all there is to it.

get a ftp program , i like winftp. there is heaps out there , have a look at www.download.com, they have heaps of freeware and shareware program that you can trial .
allowing clients to access it is the hard bit , but a good ftp program will manage that for you .
ftp address would be like ftp://myspace.com or ftp://192.168.0.1
all the ip address is , is a easier way to resolve a client or a computer
