You have to remember that statements such as this breed is bad about this or that are general statements. As such there is more differences between individuals of the breed than there are between breeds.

That being said some breeds are worse about having 'dangerous' individuals among them than other breeds.

I raise australian shepards. They are bred to be a one person dog and can be dangerous if a stranger comes into the yard that they know is not supposed to be there. Working strains (mine are family strains) are very bad about biting at the heel of people since they try to herd them like stock (they are bred to be stock dogs)

Pit bulls can be very dangerous if you get them from individuals who breed them for fighting since many of those dogs are inbred so they will exhibit hyperaggression. (Do NOT believe nonsense about people who dog fight breeding them not to be aggressive with humans--Within 50 miles of my house (I live in the country so thats not that far for me) I know of several incidences of pit bulls going bonkers and attacking their owners. Their owners were not dog fighters but the pit bulls were from those lines. One killed a horse the owner was riding and another killed its five year old girl owner when she went to feed it.

This does not mean that pit bulls are all aggressive. Just do not buy one from an individual who has a line that is bred for fighting. Also everyone here should know that on registered dogs (especially large potentially dangerous dogs) you should check the pedigree to make certain the animal you wish to purchase is not inbred. Inbreeding leads to both hyper- and hypoaggression as well as other health problems. This is true for any animal or human.

So in answer to your question -- "Some breeds are more likely to have individuals that become dangerous than other breeds."

Different breed of dogs contain genetic instinct that are pass down from generation to generation. A pitbull and a stafford terrier were once and sometimes use to breed for dog fighting, the instinct of the pitbull are pass down through their offspring even though future pitbulls do not fight.

Other dog are breed for different reason such as papillion, were and still use as lap dog, and the lap dog genetic instinct carries no trait as for fighting like the pitbull.

Owners are responsible as well, some of us abuse the instinct and try to elevate the possibility of causing the dog instinct to override the learning behaviour taught by humans, example: a owner abuse a pitbull in order to raise the instinct to fight vicously against another humans or other animals. The same result would be different for the papillion because the papillion does not carry the genetic instinct for fighting like a pitbull because papillion was not breed for that way.

I think so. Dogs like Pit Bulls have been bred almost solely for pit fighting for a few hundred years; unlike the Bulldog, who has been gradually bred to be an affectionate pet and hast lost its aggressiveness, the Pit Bull has not gone through such a breeding selection. It is still very much a fighting dog. To be sure, there are some gentle pit bulls out there, but they seem to be more the exception than the rule, and even they have been known to turn on their owners without provocation.

Some people think they are, but me personally and from experience, believe it's all in how you raise the animal. For instance, we have 2 pit bulls, a Rottweiller and 2 Chihuahuas and the small Chihuahua is actually more aggressive. The pit bulls are as gentle as can be. They love our kids. They will roll over and let you rub their bellies and they like to sleep in the bed with you if you let them. So I say no. It's all in how you raise them.

You are probably right there, it's the one at the other end of the leash that usually has the problem first.

what about a pitbull and a chihuahua ,

you asked more dangerous
if you had said agressive ,then i would agree with you this has a lot to do with the dogs upbringing ,hence the owner
