I think you are pretending to be a Muslim. What gets me is you can spell betrothed...I live in a Muslim country and I speak whenever I feel.. no man will force me.. out of respect I would hold my tongue on certain things...

Allah will appreciate a greater good being served. Although lands are vast you'll never escape the eye of Allah. Can't shadows find new life far from those who would deny it ?
So it was of old. An ancient proverb: The longest journey begins with a single step.

What do you mean you can't speak in public without your husband and or a man around? I'm an American living in Saudi Arabia and the women around here are not afraid to speak up in public, they do it all the time, being careful of course, not to convey certain thoughts and ideas. How in the world can they conduct business and or have a business and many of them do.

Salam Aleikum sister
is a shame that u are going trough that, but if u study sunnah and Quran you will find the arguments and proofs to show that according to Islam you have the right to speak your mind in public with or without your husband...
If you are not living in a muslim country you still can look into other legal documents valid in that country or in international human rights laws...

Obviously my opinion would be that she should follow her heart as we only have one life, it is very short, and we should be happy. However I am not aware of your culture and would not like to advise anything which may put her in danger.
In England, women can do whatever they want, and are not restricted by any types of social boundaries (at least not as much as they used to be).
Stay safe, strive for happiness.

Encourage your government to promote women's rights. The best way to do this is through writing. Make it an essay in a magazine, or even an entire book.

2 people have already said you're just pulling a fast one, and I'm forced to agree with them. The archaicism is a little phony, brother...better luck next time. But if you're real, and I'm mistaken, I'm sorry....

I can not relate to your situation so any advice I give may not be realistic. Only you know what you can do and the repercussions of doing them. It is your life and you are the one who has to live with your choices.

i really don't understand countries like that. no man will ever have me "be quiet, or hold my tongue!" i think women that do have issues. no man should ever control a woman. we should be free to speak whenever we want. maybe the men that like to control their women are cowards. why would a woman put up with that anyway?
i never can understand it.
