because they believe that the military is fighting a war that is not necessary and using their tax money to fund it. They also believe that the people who are fighting are not dying for them. I agree with this, because the people fighting are not dying for me. I did not ask them to be there, and they are not fighting someone who is a direct threat to me.

Although I believe all of what I just said, I have the utmost repect for every single man and woman serving in any branch of the American military.

People protest the war because it is their belief that it is both unnecessary and immoral to be in Iraq.

These people are usually all the same. Democratic, open-minded, liberal idiots who would rather forget 9-11, sip on their star-bucks and read the business section each morning, and go on about their lives as if this country were never attacked. They feel war is immoral, yet (mostly) at the same time support gay marriage. Granted, how we got over to Iraq was wrong. Bush isn't the sharpest pencil in the box either, but we are over there now and it can't be undone.

BUT, In a nutshell, they mostly use disrespect for the military as a way of disrespecting the current government in power. They believe that getting the military out of Iraq would solve the problems. Yeah. Ok. Lets just sit back and let them arm themselves on a more massive scale. South Korea is now tied in with Iran. People don't see it. Look at your history people. This screams of World War, this area of the world HATES the U.S. HATES us. They'd just as soon chop your head off than look at you.

So, to summarize, people protest the military because they are uneducated morons who think that the country, and entire world, should be ruled by letting everyone do whatever they want. What many of them fail to realize is, while the military is partially controlled by the government, the soldiers have little choice in where they are sent or what they are tasked with.

Simple. THEY ARE IGNORANT.

And you're the expert. We have the facts we were lied too about the reason we were going to Iraq. We have respect for the military but people protest the conflict because there's nothing that we can do to resolve Iraq's problem except for the Iraqi people. The reason were there is for Oil plain and simple. The rich are getting richer the poor are getting poorer. If you decided to open your eyes maybe you would begin to realize this but you've been brainwashed by the Republicans into thinking that there's a good reason to be there. We are not at war it's never been declared in fact there hasn't been a declared war since World War 2. So why don't you get your facts straight before you ask such an idiotic question and also learn to spell it's not dieing it's dying.

Um, I am a soldier in Iraq and it really doesn't show me disrespect when people are protesting the war. That's just something partisan folks like to say to discourage people from doing it.
