That sounds like a fine combination, depending on the catfish you choose. Most plecos will get too large for your tank. A group of 3 corys or otocinclus catfish, or an upside down catfish would work. You could also try some kuhlii loaches if you want a "different" bottom fish.

Im not a big fan of Gouramis. I love Rams tho. They are a more gentle Cichlid. Still very nice tho. They can sometimes tend to be a lil too weak. But, as long as they are maintained properly, they should do ok. All the fish u mentioned sound very compatible.
Be careful not too over crowd your tank. A 14 gallon isnt that big.

Oh boy! Blue rams are the greatest, bestest, most beautiful fresh water fish! Go forth and do what i have never done and own that blue ram! Love all your ideas of sih, they are all beautiful and compatible. blue rams are fragile finned - I don't think dwarf gouramis are aggressive but better ask the store owner. tetras, tetras, tetras!! Many beautiful species and VERY hardy, avid feeders!

Ronn's right. It depends on the tank size. The the fish you have listed seem to be compatible enough.
Best of luck!

Get corys, they are cute. Or maybe some tetras, but not neon. And maybe crustaceans and some plants... stuff like that. the mentioned fish are okay... just be sure you know how to take care of them.

depends on the size of the tank, if its overcrowded, it'll be bad.
but the fish species combination are fine, as long as the catfish isn't a carnivorous type... pleco catfish are great 'cause they can help get rid of algae

you should put your tank size first... personally, i like platies and mollies. for me, they are the most hardiest fish although they are prolific but it's a good biginner fish... info on this link: http://www.fishforums.com/forum/livebearers/5316-how-identify-male-female.html
