Or for those really into space exploration: the Heliopause (the outer border of the solar system). AND some would claim that the sentence itself went where no man had been before, ie., split infinitive!! Correct English would be '...to go boldly.......' (Oh, well, it is Monday morning!).

that famous line was first in star trek i think, and for the next generation it was changed to "where no one has gone before". it was probably said before then but as the first i know of it was star trek thats my answer and if its wrong sod it.
