What kind of connection do you have? If it's cable or DSL, it's most likely limited by the service plan you have. Your ISP will gladly increase your speed if you pay them more each month.

yes u have to enroll urself for higher bandwidth internet connection.... and if u want higher speed do it the time when there is less traffic like early morngn late at night...
there is no software to increase the speed of ur internet connection....

The reason is Microsoft reserves 20% of your available bandwidth for its own purposes (suspect for updates and interrogating your machine etc.) Here’s how to get it back:
Click Start / Run
Type: gpedit.msc
This opens the group policy editor. Then go to:
Local Computer Policy / Computer Configuration / Administrative Templates / Network / QOS Packet Scheduler /

yes. change the connection into DSL. DSL or cable connection is cheaper nowadays.

No.... just no.... any program says it can is full of it.
Time for ADSL.
EDIT FOR OTHER USERS: 48 kbps is and can olny be dial-up.
If you have ADSL or cable at these speeds i'd be shooting my ISP.

take a broadband connection or try reliance netconnect data card . its got a speed of 230.4Kbps.

there are many tweaks to do... but its not of any use because ur interent speed is slow from your ISP side not from your PC
