You'd have to be an idiot to believe that legalizing drugs is going to lead to drug dealers getting jobs. They'll just commit other types of crimes.

There would be fewer turf wars between dealers and fewer cases of violence. The crime rate would fall since the price of drugs would be reduced by real legal competition. As for the dealers, well, they'd probably have to find themselves a new profession.

The government would become the dealer and tax the crap out of the drugs.

It's the only way they would ever become legal. Same as prostitution, the government would have to be the madam or the pimp.

If drugs became legal, the government would inevitably slap a tax on drugs so all the dealers could become government tax collectors

like Bribri said, they'd all become ligit business men. Less drugs, less crime, oh what a shame. Amsterdam is a model of the sucessful nature of legalisation for us all to look at. They keep its access restricted to certian legalised areas such as the "coffee" houses

They would become home business owners and get to pay taxes like other businesses!

They still get rich since they were already in that field of business, but I doubt if this kind of business will be accepted to the majority.

They would be drug reps and have a real job with benefits DUH then we would have a decline in crime OH NO that sounds horrible.We need more gangs!!
