Look in Halfords i think they do Union Flag and George cross stickers that fit over the EU sign.
In reply to Tamart i dont think it is Europhobic to want to display your own countrys flag i think it is patriotic and the disliking the EU symbol is not yet a crime as far as i know.

Where I live, the amount has to do with how new your car is, plus the make/model. They look at the graph to determine, what amount people pay for that year. And issue a sticker to cover the original year the plate was made. So it renews your license plate for another two or three or four years. It depends on the rules of that state, how often you have to renew.

You can buy numberplates without them, and car dealerships should be able to fit them if you specifically ask as you sort out buying the car.
Otherwise, you can stick something over it, or simply cut the offending part off with a hacksaw.
As a friend of farmers, I'll second you wrt the EU.

Sorry to tell you that it will not cure your europhobia. Get another set of number plates without the badge. It is perfectly legal and not like some other country in which it may be an offence. Hate to see people like you suffering from an illness that is self imposed..
