I have a bike and I do ride it to work. If its not raining when I go to work its good (I dont wanna spend 8+ hrs in wet clothes). if it rains coming home, who cares I change when I get there. I'd rather ride than drive.

I used to have a motorcycle (actually I've had 3 so far) and I used to use it to go to college. But when I started work, I had to wear my suits so that was out. And getting into accidents are a given on a motorcycle (so I didn't want to ruin a $200 - $500 suit every time).

And here in NYC, there aren't that many "motorcycle weather" days. I would go to school dry (with say only 30% chance of rain) and come home soaking wet from that 30% chance of rain. But I lived in Maui and EVERY day is a motorcycle weather.

I do. I have used my bike to commute in Sydney (population about 4 million), Canberra (300,000) and where I live today in Launceston (pop 60,000). Commuting on a bike in a big city is very dangerous in the long term (the odds of lasting year after year in heavy traffic), but incredibly efficient. No parking problems, and you can cut the traffic in most conditions.

In Canberra the roads were large and open: I didn't save much time on the bike compared to a car, but it was a lot of fun (and arriving at work smiling is a great reason to commute on a bike). Here in Launceston, where it's very cold and ALL the parking is controlled by meters and private companies, there are few advantages to a bike for commuting.

Yes, weather permitting, including winter if it is in the high 20's and the roads aren't messy. I only have an 8 mile ride so sometimes I leave early and take the long way. I feel so ripped off when I take the cage cuz they are calling for rain and we get none!

Yes, and YES! I get three times the gas mileage on the bike as I do in my Jeep AND have fun doing it.

On really nice days, I even ride my bicycle to work, 25-miles round trip.

I try and ride as much as possible but if the weather is inclement (and I work in a business environment) or if I have errands to run after work I can't.

Yes, sometimes. I am in a carpool, but usually once or twice a week, the other people in the carpool work overtime or are on vacation. When this occurs, I take my Harley.

I used mine to commute to university, and even though
i'm on broken wings now. when I get another one, yeah, I'll be commuting everywhere I can. Gas is too expensive to waste taking a car or man-van around unless I'm taking the wife and kids.
