I always do...no matter who they are.

Music I listen to most of the time is something that is tied up in my emotions of how I feel or felt at sometime in the past. That usually means that's the part of me that I don't feel like sharing, I just want to keep it all to myself.

Absolutely. It feels almost like a mirror of my soul or something. And I'm not sure if others will like what they see.

So I quickly feel embarrassed and try to keep it a secret.

You should never feel embarrassed about the music you like. Everyone has different tastes. That's why there are so many kinds of music out there. My tastes have changed over the course of my life. I still like what I listened to when I was a kid but I Don't listen to it as much anymore.

No not at all because I listen to a great variety of artists from different styles. But I totally understand what you mean because I'm the same way with all the books I read!. It's like- I don't want to know what's in my head! Weird huh!?

absolutely agree. my friends always say "what kind of a person are you? You have Sepultura and Pavarotti and john lennon at the same playlist...." But I think it is pretty normal to have different kind of songs. You know, music is to feed the soul and our soul (like our body) needs different kinds of food. Sometimes you need meat and sometimes green tea...
But still I feel embarrassed to show about my soul or emotions...

Not really.

Why should I?

I'm very proud of my CD collection because it's very eclectic.

But I keep Heavy Metal, Hip Hop, Country-Western and Classical music completely out of it though!

No... Why should I? It's my music, and I don't give a damn if others like it or not. I have music ranging from musicals to Nine Inch Nails, to Bob Dylan, to Staind, to Josh Groban. I listen to what I like, and I don't care what anyone thinks about it.

Me too! Thats why I have the cds I don't mind showing on display and the other cds that I'm too shame to show in a cd wallet under my bed, so if anybody finds it I can say, "That's not mine!" It's weird! Anybody would think it was monkey porn or something!

there are a couple songs that i probably should be embarrassed about, but my music helps define me. so, i flaunt it. if people have a problem with my music, oh well. i happen to like it, even if most of it came out before i was born. ;)
