Your wife is ill... with what? If she has a virus or cold, it could potentially pass before she goes into labor. Thankfully in this instance, many babies aren't born on or before their due dates, but prefer to wait around a few extra days. In your case, that will give your wife time to get through the worst of her illness.

She should check with her doctor... in the meantime, make sure she stays hydrated... and gets plenty of rest.

What is your wife ill with? Can't help you much. You won't get much sleep and now is the best time to make sure you have the house in order and plenty of microwaveable/easy meals for the next two weeks. Talk with the doc about the illness.

Dad, mom, and big sister all had a hell of a cold when my son was born in February, but everyone was allowed in the delivery room. Don't worry about the baby getting sick if mom is fighting it she has passed the antibodies onto baby. I feel sooo bad for her, pregnant and sick is so miserable. Best of luck to you!

'keedokee.... We need to know how your wife is "ill" before we can help you know what to be aware of.

The issues of a woman who has a severe cold during labor and delivery, and a woman who has a stomach virus during labor and delivery, would be different.
